Some of the most popular hiking areas in Colorado are only minutes away from your home, River Run. There are over 39,000 miles of trail in Colorado that you can hike, backpack, mountain bike and motorize. With so much area to explore, you can enjoy every second with the perfect weather, difficulty and destination.

Rifle Falls
Only 20 minutes away from River Run is Rifle Falls, a 48 acre park that features a 70 foot waterfall right in the middle of the park. This beautiful section of water flow comes from the east Rifle Creek. There are three hiking trails that lead to, from and even up and over the three astonishing waterfalls with some of the easiest hiking you can find nearest to you.

Maroon Bells
With a Rocky Mountain landscape and some of the most beautiful scenery in Colorado, Maroon Bells offers several hiking trails. Being a little over an hour away from River Run, South Maroon Peak and North Maroon Peak pair together in the Elk Mountains. Both peaks are 14ers and the trail is 10 miles long with beginner to moderate difficulty.

Hanging Lake
Located 10 miles East of Glenwood Springs and only 25 minutes from River Run is Hanging Lake, which is considered a National Natural Landmark. With the trail going straight up for over a mile long means that your legs will get a solid workout getting to the top. A wrap-around walkway surrounds the breathtaking lake at the top that provides a opportunity to rest when you get to your destination.
